The Summary Care Record will not include any details of any medical conditions you have. If you do not opt out, however, it will include all the medication you are taking. This means anyone can accurately work out your diagnosis from the medication – for example, Microgynon will say that a woman is on the pill, Prozac that you suffering from depression, Lithium that you are suffering from bipolar disorder, Sildenafil that you suffer from impotence.
Fill out the Opt Out Letter on the website and send it to your GP to avoid your sensitive medical details being updated to the national database.
